What is
Advent Art by Dark?

Part visio divina, part art gallery walk, part self-guided retreat, these unique prayer experiences can become part of your Advent ritual, where we embrace the darkness and trust in the Light.

Each prayer service will have a different theme, different featured art pieces on display, and the same format. Participants will receive a different packet of printed materials of Advent prayer & reflection resources each week, which they can keep.

December 7’s focus is “Light & the Cosmic Church” and will feature Erickson’s artwork to illuminate this theme. Similarly,

December 14: Light & the Global Church

December 21: Light & the Mother Church

Join us for the full 45-minute prayer service, or drop in any time during that window. The church will be open for silent reflection before and after the formal 7-7:45 gathering. You’re welcome to come early for extra silence at 6:30, and to stay in silence until 8 pm.

This program is open to people from any faith community, as well as people from no faith community. Any person who would welcome a reflective space in the midst of a busy season may find Advent Art by Dark meaningful.
